Crack Detector
Tests welding during construction and monitors wear after several years’ use; for tanks, pylons (ski resorts, cable cars), machine frames, automobiles, etc.
APPLICATION FIELDS
CRACK DETECTOR can be used in a wide variety of fields, such as:
- the aeronautics and space industry, nuclear power stations
- testing welds (joints and lateral areas)
- detecting microfissures
- foundry output
- testing for porousness, etc.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
This range includes three complementary products:
- 503-KLEANER: degreases the surface to be examined It is recommended to let this product dry completely before continuing with the next steps.
- 957-CRACK DETECTOR ROUGE is to be sprayed onto surfaces to be examined, after grease has been completely removed. Depending on the type of test and on the accessibility, the product can be sprayed on the front and/or the rear of the item to be examined. The disadvantage of spraying the product on the rear is that fissures that do not go through the entire thickness will not be detected. The product should take 5 to 10 minutes to permeate (allow longer for special steels). Remove any excess with a clean cloth, it should no longer appear red. Allow to dry.
- 956-CRACK DETECTOR BLANC: spray onto the surface in a thin, even layer, after it has been treated with Crack Detector Rouge. Avoid applying too much, as this will impede the sensitivity of the test. Allow to dry for 2 to 3 minutes. All existing faults (cracks, fissures, etc.) will appear in red on a white background. Turn the aerosol upside down and empty the valve after each use.
